30 Hours In Cameron Highland

so it was time of the year when Penang is soooo hot that me and Mr Potato decided to go to somewhere cooler and have ourselves relaxed. could not remember which dates are these when we went there, I think next time I have to blog right after the trip.

So I remember it must be some sort of public holidays, we started our journey super early in the morning sat 5am? there was no jam until we arrived and started to go around.
so lesson learnt : never go vacations in Malaysia whenever there is public holiday
you could not image the crowd during our journey back. it was like 6 hours journey from CH to PG.
almost fainted in the car....

so we checked in to this ZERMATT HOTEL, as per book in AGODA.
RM80 +- for a night, the place is quite new. so everything is good.
the staff were friendly and most importantly they provide HAIR DRYER!
that is my main concern in every hotel, couldn't afford bring such heavy stuff to a vacation.

the cons are: lots of mosquito and super big ones, woke up to actually kill 10+ of them. with the height we are on and with no fan, it's a bit not soooo cool at night.

this is not the first time we went to CH. so day1 is eat kaki.

are you a fan of flowers? if yes this is the place where you need to go.
rose valley, entrance is at roadside with parking space across, I think both of us is the first visitor of the day, we were day around 9am. imagining the whole garden is ours haha.

if you are a "photogtapher" you know wanted to take as much photo as possible
go earlier, and you can get as much photo as possible without visitors behind you.
this places requires some stamina. it's quite big with steps. entrance fee RM5

stop by a bee farm near rose valley, free entrance nothing special
lots of bees.. of wait dead bees. with different type of honey selling at the counter.

next is the must go place because of the yummy salad, its a strawberry farm located behind cactus valley. well you see it's not our first time so, we skipped the cactus and just to go for food.
and of courses walking around breathing in fresh air. but tbh it's not that fresh either.

and so this is Bharat Tea Plantation, it's not as crowded as BOH.
this is a bit smaller, but a better place for photo and eye opener.
there is a small cafe on the top which you can have drinks and enjoy the view
so Mr Potato decided to have 'teh peng' as it's his favorite - rating 4.5/5

so we went back to the hotel quite early around 5pm
as we said this is an relaxing trip, started to walk around the hotel to get food for dinner
so we brought the mini cooker up, so we made mini steamboat out of it.
luckily there were no smell in the hotel hahahaha...
you might ask why didn't we go to the night market ..
well you see it's a public holiday and the cars are like covering up the whole place of Cameron Highland. you don't want to caught in the jam and go home after that. mood breaker.

DAY 2
so  this is something not everyone will do, but sure us.
to see the sunrise of this place.
well usually no matter which place we go, I'll insist to go somewhere that I can view the skyline.

so we woke up 4am in the morning the tour guides came 5am
which was super early for Mr Potato, his eyes were close until the car started moving where our hearts going to bump out of us.

so there brought us up here, with the observation deck, too bad its too misty that time
could not see anything, but imagining climbing up that
cold and rusty, it's scary for little girl like me :D

then done some little hiking where you can see where is Perak & Pahang
and the highest peak of Cameron Highland.
after that they provide coffee tea and light breakfast on the gunung itself.
so it's like chit chatting with tourist and drink coffee.

so this is a sunrise trip, of course ada sunrise lah.
you think it's very pretty huh, do you know how cold is this.
I was freezing till death with long pants, and 3 layers of clothing.
when the wind blows I just hoped to jump into the fire.

next of course they'll bring us BOH tea plantation,
so it's not the first time we came here. nothing much special to us

and here we end our jouney in cameron highland
and started the jam back to Penang.

no next time for public holidays.

not much expenses this trip, I think per person RM200++
rating for whole trip 3/5.
because of the jam we had.

50 Hours In Singapore

Suddenly the feel came back for blogging, so ..... let's begin!
I am going to share about my Singapore Trip 20 - 22 MAY 2016
in this post. Well, it all started with...
Me 'go vacation lah!'
Mr Potato 'go lah go lah!'

Starting from the air ticket, from Penang - Singapore was book around 2 months ahead.
The price was normal I think? MYR300+ with Air Asia without any check-in baggage.
There's a reminder for International Flights,
you have to stamp your boarding pass at the counter before going into the custom.

The currency exchange by time is 2.98
well ... spend wisely

We bought our stay at Fragrance Hotel - Geylang RM300+- for 2 nights.

didn't expect it will be this small, but it's okay just for 2 night.
although the room is small, it provides hair dryer, kettle, water, hot shower,
body wash, toiletries, a place to hang clothing etc.
It is clean and comfortable. Overall a 3/5.
Check in time is 3PM but the staff there manage to make a room for us at 1PM.
+ we don't have to pay deposit for the room. Just settle the payment in AGODA and go.
those who wrote that is a 5minutes walk from the EW9 Aljunied Station is a LIE!
well, I have short legs and it too me around 10minutes to reach the station.

Now the fun starts! DAY 1
The first thing out of passport stamping is to GO PURCHASE NETS flash pay.
It's SGD12 with SGD7 credit inside, I extra top up SGD 10 in and it makes SGD17
that last me the whole trip and there are still some balance in it.
you will need this for the LRT & MRT.

So before all the check in for hotel stuff,
we were too hungry to walk anymore.
So simply went into one coffee shop took lunch.
There will be no food photo for this blog as.. I forgotten to take photo :P

Going to GARDENS BY THE BAY!
the route take up quite some time, from EW9 Aljunied to EW12Bugis then to DT16Bayfront
after that you still have a take a 10 minutes FAST WALK to the destination.
then we purchase the Shuttle Bus tickets, if not you will need to have a super long walk
to reach the 2 conservatories.
that is the shuttle we sat on, suggest to sit at the last row,
as you get to see more scenery and take photo during the ride.
It will take you straight to the 2 conservatories (Cloud Dome & Flower Dome)
*Flower Dome availability subject to change

We went in to the CLOUD DOME first.
then this is one of the best moment I'd feel in my life.
this place is just miracle, both of us were really impressed!
I'll leave some surprise moment for you and stop posting photo!
The place is COLD! well you see, I don't expect seeing plants and flowers somewhere cold.
And this is totally out of my expectation.
I can stay here whole day, trust me, this is a MUST!

And next the FLOWER DOME.
and luckily we are on the right season!
there are flowers, cactus, tall trees, anything plants you can name of.
there's a banquet hall  inside, it's a bit weird, but who cares let's just walk pass.
and guess what? this place is cooling too!

After all these cooling places, we headed to the SUPER TREE!
or whatever it's called.
and look we bought the tickets up to OCBC Skyway SGD8 .
Well, Mr. Potato says I walk like crab on the skyway.
but look I still manage to take photo!

So of you may choose to go Garden By The Bay at night,
but I choose it afternoon as i wanted to take bright photo.
The night scene of supertrees can be seen on top of Marina Bay Sands observation deck.

Next we have a walk to the Art Museum,
and we go through Marina Bay Sands, and a big mall I think
Habour something? Because it's by the Bay. Looking for Lunch,
and we just found some cheepo stuff in the foodcourt, so let's just eat.
there is this WHEN ART MEET SCIENCE thingy going on.
SGD 28 for the project and ART museum I think.
It includes a bottle of juice too.
and it's really worth it. I never seen such beautiful things.
Well I meant Sciencly Beautiful, if you can understand what do I mean.
now this is a cute thing,
that you can colour and design your own plane/ house / whatever
with the outline given and TADDA! after scanning,
my jet plane is flying on the projector! YAY! a quite interesting thing to do.
there are too many weird and nice things here.
you just have to visit this.

next we head up to this em, jewelary museum.
it's an eye opener that I do not understand.
some of them looks like alien to me.
and I think that this place is a place that display almost the craft from the same company.
*a section of it.
and some are just ancient type of crowns, bracelet, necklace, ring, keychain.
but fill with blink blink stuff. well it's an eye opener I said, something new to learn.

after that walking around the habour line , took some photo.
and went to the Casino =P
the pictures are in my phone, so leave it.
Let's just have a peek what's inside ~
well compare to the one in Genting Highlands, this is much more cleaner.
and people are just more well dressed.
The customs check at the casino is very polite to check our passports.
Foreigner don't have to pay to visit the Casino, but if you are a citizen,
you need to pay even if you are not gambling, I think it's says something like that
at the board in front of the casino, couldn't remember.

Well after that we went back to the mall, I think is called Habour City ?
and had our dinner there too. Well, cheepo food again, hungry, just eat.
Lot's of people, so find a place and start eating.

Now walking up to Sands Skypark Observation Deck.
Well I don't really know what's the route, as we walk and walk and walk around
it just seems that not every route can be access by tourist...
in the end after lots of walking, we reach the entrance of ticketing,
SGD23 , Selfie stick & tripod is allowed =) unlike KLCC...
the night view here is awesome, well ratings 3.5/5
as you know weather here is hot and really hot and lots of people.
and everyone wants to take photo, how crowded haha..

please wait until 10PM! there's a water spectacular show.
you can see it project images through water.
Of course you can see at the habour front to view.
But viewing on top of everyone is just more fun.

And there goes DAY1 .
We actually planned to go Singapore Flyer, but it's a really long walk of the Helix Bridge.
Too tired to do so, so let's just relax.

DAY 2, UNIVERSAL STUDIO
this will be a short one.
EW9 Aljunied - EW16 Outram Park, to NE1 Habour front
Take Exit E to Vivo City , walk up to level 3, board sentosa express SGD4, 1 stop at
Waterfront Station, walk straight till you see Chili's Restaurant.
And you can see Universal's Studio Globe, where you buy tickets nearby.

To have a tight budget vacation, please eat before you go into universal studio.
We ate somewhere near Geylang, simple breakfast, and we are good to go.

Lesson 1: Please buy tickets ONLINE!
we bought on the spot SGD70 + SGD60 (ONE TIME EXPRESS PASS)
well look if you are going on a weekend/ a peak season
please do get an express pass, don't waste time on queue.
there are a few sections in the park, get the information map from the counter outside.
get to know which are are you in, and which ride you have done, place a tick.
you may miss out some ride that doesn't have obvious entrance.

There will be some movie character walking around,
but their photo shots are limited, be quick , or else, just a photo of them will do.

Some rides requires bags and belongings to be kept it the locker.
especially those fast ride.if you like high speed roller coasters,
suggest you don't take anything belongings to the park,
as you have to pay around SGD5 for the locker, and with the queue again.

After that we went to SEA AQUARIUM
SGD 35 + 4D Typhoon Experience
we went into the 4d typhoon experience first
it's a WOW. of course, haha. well after the ride @ universal studio
this is another WOW. because during the raining scene,
it really rains in the room, and you literally will get kind of wet.
and the room will move, no photo and video is allowed, so please go enjoy !
it's worth the money!

next going into the aquarium is a bit dissapointed.
you know tourist, I mean those .. uneducated one.
look I know this is a tourist spot and you are suppose to take photo.
But wait, most of you are standing at the same spot for like 5minutes just to take a photo..
I do not understand... and I didn't want to, and just feel that I wasted money
for looking at people taking photo of the sea creature..
however, I still manage to snap some "common" fish ,
that no one wants to snap.. so here it goes.

look at the crowd... it's just unbelievable !

then we walk around Sentosa ~
look even Mc Donald's need to queue till outside the shop..
Aiyar yar go wrong date lah, so many people here and there.

after that we went to ORCHARD ROAD!
NE1-Ne6-Ns24-NS22 ORCHARD
and the first thing is go to ION and buy AWFULLY CHOCOLATE.
the best truffles and mini truffles I'd eaten in a life.
basically a shopping heaven.
walk around to the next road for more shopping mall.

after that we went back to Geylang, on the way walking back to the Hotel
we got ourselves some food from the hawker centre
and ate dinner in room, and straight away slept till the next morning.

DAY3 - NO TOUR
we woke up and went to the airport,
took breakfast at a chainstore , and waited to fly back to Penang.
for GST claim, it's only for goods that you bought and is going out of SG.
Service is not included, please check the R&R at their website for more information.

Well Changi's Airport Terminal is quite "FAR" too ..
We were at terminal 36.... it's a long walk , luckily there's the walkalator.
after we get in to the terminal, there's still drinking water machine but no washroom.
so please go to the washroom before you depart!

***** just a little praising, UBER service in Penang.
well, I was a kid that used to take cab in Penang.. but you know lah the price.
then here came UBER.. so I took UBER from QBM area to PIA RM9
PIA to QBM are RM9 , and with both friendly drivers.
These trip starts and ends happily without any quarrel with the taxi drivers

and there end's our trip
I'll make sure to blog a detailed trip next time!
hoped you enjoyed!
